STUFF is a side project I started in University with my friend Shannon Fidler. It is a creative group where it could be anything we wanted it to be. We were both interested in creating something tactile - a product that could bring smiles to peoples faces! We tag-teamed the branding and I created our squiggle mark, a form that wasn’t really anything specific but could be whatever it needed to be; in the end when we landed on creating pillows and the form really felt right for that, it could be stuffing, a thread, a pencil line, softness, a cloud… and all those things feel like the right things to describe these pillows. I illustrated the animals and screen printed them, and Shannon was the master sewer, although eventually I also had to get into this role too. We primarily focused on Canadian animals, but then branched off into a series of sea creatures, a bison, a Tyrannosaurus, and a Wooly Mammoth. We sold them at the fantastic Art + Craft Market Royal Bison for 4 seasons and now have them stocked in local shops around Edmonton (Hideout Distro, Tix On The Square, and The Royal Alberta Museum).
