As a self-directed project done at Berlin Communications with Hilary Zak, we created a deck of playing cards exemplifying the iconic city of Berlin. This included German architecture and objects, as well as integrating aspects of Berlin Communications into elements of the cards as well. Specifically, this can be observed in the ace card illustration, which is a reflection of the skyline of Berlin and Edmonton. We also showcased Berlin Communications’ branding and visual styles using graphic elements from previous swag pieces (i.e. the bear found on the cards box, the eye found on the ace card, and the ‘B’ pattern on the backs of the cards). This project was created by the two of us 50/50 from concept to illustration and final product.
